Faux Flower Corsage & Boutteinere

These faux florals and satin heels were dyed to match Fall’s it color. Even the corsage bracelet beads absorbed the hue flawlessly - proof that every detail can bloom in Plum Berry.

Supplies

  • White Faux Flower Corsage + Boutteinere
  • Rit DyeMore for Synthetics in Plum Berry
  • Tongs
  • Paper Towels
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Stove Pot
  • Container for Dyeing
  • Measuring Cup and Spoons

Difficulty: Beginner

Time: Total: 1 hour

Instructions:

  1. Cover work area with plastic table cover and have paper towels handy to protect against any possible spills. Gather supplies.
  2. For best results, rinse faux flowers in cold water to remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption. Leave damp.
  3. Wearing rubber gloves, fill small container with 1 cup of very hot water. Temperature should ideally be 200ºF.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of Plum Berry DyeMore for Synthetics to dyebath.
  5. Immerse flower heads into dyebath for 2-5 minutes to achieve very light Plum Berry Color or leave in longer for a deeper shade. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter.
  6. Reshape petals and rinse in warm water then gradually cool until rinse water runs clear.
  7. Allow it to dry fully.
