Get creative and create something unique with an easy dye technique, like an ombré, dip dyed, shibori or tie-dye pattern.

With 250+ colour recipes available on Rit’s website, it is almost certain you’ll find the right colour for your needs.

If dyeing fabric with less than 35% synthetic fabric (i.e. polyester, acrylic or acetate), use Rit All-Purpose Dye instead.

Dye synthetic fabric and fabric blends, which include anything with 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. Perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing, upcycling, hiding laundry accidents and so much more.

Due to the complexity of dyeing synthetic fabrics, you must use this dye in a stainless-steel pot on your stove top to maintain a high-water temperature throughout the duration of dyeing. Cannot be used in a washing machine.

Back to black - outstanding result and pretty fun to do.

I dyed a pair of synthetic swim/ everyday shorts with Ritdye charcoal. The results have been superb.

After a jacuzzi chemically bleached them to a horrible pale brown I had given up hope and these were not cheap.
I had no other products to dye and was a bit lazy measuring out so used the whole bottle.

Outstanding result literally back to original black finish. It has not bled, and has been colourfast in the sun. I probably wont swim in them again - but for less than £10 postage ive saved them. Cannot recommend enough.
