We’ll never get over how beautifully Rit dyes wood. Because it’s a water-based dye, it allows the natural wood grain to shine through, adding depth, color and texture that you’ll never get with a paint or stain.
Supplies
- Unfinished Wood Bead Ornaments
- Rit All-Purpose Liquid Dye in Apple Green, Coral and Cherry Red
- Small containers for dyeing
- Gloves
- Paper Towels
Time: Total: 30 minutes

Instructions:
- Cover work area with plastic table cover and have paper towels handy to protect against any possible spills. Gather supplies.
- Fill up a glass bowl using the hottest water from the tap. Pour a small amount of Rit into the water. You can always add more dye so start with a little. Stir well.
- Place wood bead ornaments into dyebath and stir for 5-10 minutes or until desired color is achieved. Keep in mind that wood beads will look darker when wet.
- Once desired color is achieved, rinse in cool water and allow it to fully dry.
