- Stove Pot
- Container for Dyeing
- Measuring Cup and Spoons
Time: 1 Hour
Difficulty: Beginner
Instructions
1. Cover work area with plastic table cover and have paper towels handy to protect against any possible spills. Gather supplies.
2. Cut flower stems from faux bouquet and remove any extra greenery or leaves.
3. For best results, rinse faux flowers in cold water to remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption. Leave damp.
4. Wearing rubber gloves, fill small container with 1 cup of very hot water. Temperature should ideally be 200ºF.
5. Add 2 tbsp of Super Pink to dyebath.
6. Immerse flower heads into dyebath for 2-5 minutes to achieve very light pink. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter. Squeeze out excess dye.
7. Repeat to create another dyebath with half bottle of Apricot Orange.
8. Dip just the tips of the dyed flowers into dyebath to create a ombre effect for 2-5 minutes. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Petals will look darker when wet and will dry lighter.
9. Rinse in warm water until water runs clear, then cold water.
10. Allow it to dry fully and set the table!
