Did you know Rit Dye can also stain unfinished wood? Let the summer games and DIYs begin!

Supplies:
- All-Purpose Rit Dye in Black
- Unfinished wood cornhole board
- Sandpaper 220 grit
- 3” Painter’s Tape
- Small container for Dye
- Sponge or Sponge Brush
- Paper Towels or Cloth
- Rubber gloves
- Wood Sealer of choice
Time: 1 Hour
Difficulty: Intermediate
Instructions:
- If wood board has a finish, use sandpaper to remove finish to expose raw wood, wipe with damp cloth to remove any dust.
- Apply 3” Painter’s Tape vertically onto cornhole board and make sure edges are sealed.
Remove tape and apply wood sealer. - Wearing rubber gloves, pour 2 tablespoons of Rit All-Purpose Liquid Dye into a small cup with 1 cup of hot water and apply onto unfinished wood using sponge or sponge brush. Do not oversaturate, apply as if applying a wood stain.
- Wipe off excess using a clean cloth or paper towels. Keep in mind that dye will dry lighter.
- To achieve an opaque finish, allow the dye to fully dry and repeat to apply another coat.
- Allow board to dry overnight.
- Remove tape and apply wood sealer of choice.
